Nestled at the head of the Antholz Valley, Lake Antholz is one of South Tyrol’s most beautiful mountain lakes. A nature trail leads around the lake, while the world-famous biathlon stadium is just a short distance away.

Known as the “Pearl of the Dolomite Lakes”, Lake Braies is famous for its crystal-clear, emerald-green water and spectacular mountain setting. Surrounded by forests and overlooked by the imposing Seekofel, the lake is a beautiful place for a walk and a popular starting point for hikes in the Dolomites.

At around 2,000 metres above sea level, Plätzwiese is a spectacular high-altitude plateau in the Braies Valley. Surrounded by some of the most impressive peaks of the Dolomites, it offers breathtaking panoramic views and plenty of space to enjoy nature – whether hiking, cross-country skiing or simply taking in the scenery.

Above Percha, in the secluded Wielental valley, nature has created a fascinating landscape of slender clay pillars topped with protective caps of rock. Formed over centuries by erosion, the earth pyramids can be reached via an easy hiking trail and are well worth a visit.

The Reinbach Waterfalls near Sand in Taufers are an impressive natural spectacle. A well-maintained trail winds through the forest, following the roaring cascades and the rushing water. Along the way, the trail also leads to the atmospheric Francis and Clare Chapel and forms part of a St Francis Way of Reflection.
